The Intersection of Access & Inclusion
(Or the problem with the rainbow stairs)

Is your DEI missing something? Accessibility determines who can enter a space, participate in a process, or engage in a conversation; inclusion is what becomes possible once those conditions are in place. Through real-world examples, the session explores how well-intended efforts to be “inclusive” can fall short when access is treated as optional, and how approaching accessibility as a deliberate, collective practice creates communities where participation and belonging are real rather than symbolic.
