Intro to Disability

Many people want to understand disability better but are unsure where to begin or how to ask questions respectfully. This session offers a welcoming introduction to disability and the disability community, creating space for curiosity, learning, and reflection. It covers foundational concepts such as the diversity of disabled experiences, disability etiquette and language, assistive devices, the difference between “accommodation” and invitation, and why the meaningful involvement of disabled people is essential for healthy organizations. The session is available online or in person, and can be offered as a presentation or an interactive workshop.
